Welcome to Castana.....the most friendly small-town in West-Central Iowa. Located in the beautiful Loess Hills, Castana is a place where you'll see a friendly wave as you drive through town. A town that still has a lot of offerings without the big city traffic.

You can stay at the local B&B, shop at the grocery store, use the services at the meat locker, go to church, have your computer serviced or even watch wool being spun into yarn. All this, and still NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS!!

Surrounding Castana are the Loess Hills. Here and China are the only two places in the world where you can see this type of naturally formed hills. Take a scenic drive through these luscious green hills where you'll not only see farm animals, but also wildlife such as deer, wild turkey, pheasant, bald eagle, red-tailed hawks, and even vultures.

You may take a tour of the Loess Hills Scenic Byways by following the signs. This was created in a loop, so that you can take your own tour at your own leisure and return back to your starting point. This can usually be done in about 30 minutes and is really relaxing and breath-taking.
